The following email was received from Rob Hudson in response to the five questions we asked in an earlier post –
whilst the Caulfield racecourse is not in my electorate, a number of my constituents use it for recreational purposes.
I agree with each of the five goals you have listed.
regards,
Rob

The list is missing several Oakleigh candidates as per VEC
website at http://www.vec.vic.gov.au/Current/state2010candidatesOakleighDistrict.html
Theo Zographos, Liberal, theo.zographos@vic.liberal.org.au
Eleanor Whyte, Greens, eleanor.whyte@vic.greens.org.au
Alan Ide, Democrats, alan.ide@vic.democrats.org.au
George Grigas, Family First, info@vic.familyfirst.org.au
Mathew Grinter, DLP, Mobile: 0414 223 327
Curiously only 3 Oakleigh candidates were published in
Caulfield Glen Eira Leader 16 Nov, giving us the usual half-assed
planning policy statements. The role of open space in supporting
higher density development wasn’t discussed, or the ethics of
waiving compliance with standards in order to help developer donors
to political parties make more money, or all of the things that
contribute to making a healthy community which the Planning System
ignores.
For the record I was unimpressed with Eleanor, Theo and Ann’s
comments, and hope in time that they publish much more considered
planning policies that address the current problems and low-level
corruption. Developer profit is *not* a valid town-planning
consideration. The fact that a rich and powerful institution, MRC,
has such a stranglehold on Crown land should be an embarrassment.

Thanks for the additional details Reprobate!

You are right that there are plenty of names missing Reprobate. But if you look closely at the Table the names given are the most likely ones that have a chance to be elected or re-elected. There are only 3 electorates repeating themselves: Burwood with Liberal Graham Watt to be likely to replace Bob Stensholt; in Prahran Tony Lupton is likely to be replaced by Liberal Clem Newto-Brown. And in Southern Metro 5 Jenifer Huppert might be replaced by Liberal Georgie Crozier. Anyone thinks that there will be others?

Received notification of a caulfield racecourse precinct special committee meeting on Monday 13th December 2010 at 7pm at the town hall. It states you will not be allowed to address the meeting or ask questions. Obviously the decision has been made by the gang of four. Heaven help us all.
