Last night saw the planning consultation meeting for the MRC’s 8 lot subdivision that we’ve highlighted previously. From all reports very few people even knew it was on, much less received official notification from Council. Hence there was a poor turnout. A couple of things should be noted:
- It was chaired by Lipshutz, who on several occasions threatened to close the meeting and insisted that discussion not include the C60 (again!)
- The Planning Officer did not appear to have a good grasp of the issues when asked specific questions by people
- The MRC were given the privilege of responding last (again not the usual state of affairs)
There is much more to this subdivision than meets the eye. Once again we witness the complete orchestration of events by Council and its failure to properly inform residents. The proposed subdivision is integral to public entry to the racecourse via the tunnel and hence the centre of the racecourse issue, which in turn is central to the C60. Separate them all and do things in reverse order, as is being done now, and all the cards fall neatly into the lap of the MRC. Readers should also ask themselves what role our dear council is playing in all this?

We’ve got 9 councillors yet it was Magee who chaired the centre of the racecourse planning meeting and now Lipshutz who chairs the subdivision meeting. Magee’s a trustee and Lipshutz is on the committee which will decide the C60. You’ve just got to wonder why it was these councillors that were chosen. Since the argument is that this isn’t a ‘decision making’ forum and hence there’s no conflict of interest, then this argument should hold sway for people like Forge and Penhalluriack to have chaired such meetings (Winky Pop or not!). Then there’s also Lobo who has got a totally clean sheet on these issues.
The whole process has been deliberately set up to function in this way so that the MRC gets everything they want. The simply tactics of Lipshutz and his threats to close meetings don’t belong in any forum – they belong to the school yard antics of bullies and blackguards, not councillors elected to represent their constituents. This man and his buddies must be sacked our voted out unanimously.

THE PLANNING APPLICATION NO IS GE/PP 23323/2010
YOU CAN STLL OBJECT, BUT DO SO QUICKLY AND MAKE SURE YOU OBJECTION IS RECEIVED. YOU NEED TO ACTUALL CALL INTO THE TOWN HALL TO DO THIS AS SOME HAVE GONE ASTRAY ALREADY.The issue is that it seeks to grant the MRC a specific subdivision over the tunnel entry. What will that mean when they sell airspace for yet more multi/storey developments. A bigger tunnel entry WHEN IN FACT WE ALL KNOW WE NEED A FUNNEL ENTRY. HOw will it be walking along narro paths between buildings we will be bloiwn away by the breeze from Glen Eira Road. The whole thing seems so much like EIRA where one party is taking land from the majority. Maybe “EUREKA” is here again. The Councillors just like the British in Ireland, Canada and many other places are assisting this process in Caulfield and allowing this to happen little by little to our rightful detriment.
Back to the phoney conference!!!
Well in fact the honourable councillor did close the meeting hurriedly at about 7.10. I noted the our other representative, Cr Forge, who was an observer, who had her hand up to ask a question was completely ignored. Cr Lipshutz then closed this meeting and left the planning conference about three minutes later to discuss with the applicants representative, who seemed to think all was in order and as usual we had no worries about MRC intentions and then any questions asked of the council planning person there seemed to be too hard to answer.
NOW WHAT ON EARTH IS THE RUSH? YES THE WHOLE C60 HINGES ON THE UFAIR SWAP
Please note this matter can still be
