Cr. Neil Pilling will be standing in the State election as a Green Candidate for the Upper House in the Southern Metropolitan Region.
Council minutes of 10th August record: “Cr Pilling has previously sought Leave of Absence for the period 23 July to 22 August. He is a candidate for the seat of Goldstein in the Federal Election”.
This is now the second time within 4 months that Cr. Pilling will be taking leave from his Council duties in order to concentrate on ‘electioneering’. Whilst Cr. Pilling is perfectly entitled to seek a political career, we can only ask: With two months leave in such a short period of time, how well is/has Cr. Pilling represented his Glen Eira constituents? Should the community have been made aware of Cr. Pilling’s political ambitions prior to his election in November, 2008?

Just a follow up from a previous post on Whitehorse City Council (https://gleneira.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/city-fails-its-people-does-this-sound-familiar/).
“HAVE you read Whitehorse Council’s just tabled annual operations report? Well, you won’t need to now!
Surprise, surprise, the council is walking on water. You will never see so much froth and bubble, sparkles and sprinkles, on top of the cake. Everything achieved in full, on time, on budget, all policies met, all actions completed, no problems, no waste, no inefficiency, extraordinary value for the ratepayers’ dollar.
Problem is the cake is crumbling from the bottom up. If this was your child’s report card you would want to change the teacher. Change the council, now that’s a thought. Come on, council, start telling us the real story.
Council is very careful to list only broadbrush policies and strategies, never specific actions and achievement to action plan. What are the problems that council is consistently covering up? Get real, council! Give us a balanced report and stop treating ratepayers as idiots.”

I liked Pilling when he first came in. He promised so much but has delivered so little.
