COMMENTS:
The Glen Eira council logo is present at the bottom of this advertisement. Did Council pay for any of this ad?
A public question at last Council meeting asked how much more funding would be put into advertising GESAC. The response was that this had not yet been determined. But, less than one week later there is another full page colour ad for GESAC! This tells us two things: either planning is a little askew and decisions are made on the run, or the answer to the public question was far from completely forthcoming!
Also worthy of note is that the public announcement for the Special Racecourse Precinct Committee Meeting, appears as a tiny advertisement on page 22. The ‘rubber stamping'(?) date is August 29th!

Once again we will have a minority of Councillors (Pilling, Lipshutz, Hyams and Esakoff) making a decision that all Councillors should have a say on. Once again, time to get rid of this notorious gang of four and their associates Newton and Burke and “independent” mates Gibbs and McLean.

I’d like to know how on earth this can be decided before the MRC 7 lot subdivision application is resolved at VCAT. They are interlinked and need to be considered in tandem. What we’ve got here is another railroad job. Just as before Lipshutz and his gang wanted to consider the centre of the racecourse together with the c60. Nothing but nothing about this whole damn Phoenix project is clear and transparent and probably above board.

As much as I oppose GESAC ( main reason position), as a ratepayer I still want this near complete facility to be a financial success.Council is, in my opinion ,100% correct in advertising the Centre and calling for various expressions of interest.

Does this mean that Glen Eira Warriors have 100% secured GESAC?
Contract signed and money been paid?

Really interesting. Bob Mann was the head of MacKinnon Basketball and built it to where it is today. He was a full time employee. He has obviously left MBC and now is associated with the Warriors as head coach. That is what all this is about and the stupid ,dumb councillors have now allowed themselves to become involved in an interclub dispute. Councillors are a pack of fools. They wouldn’t have a clue what’s going on and by failing to take Officers advice they are now costing us money and ruining Councils name by not holding to an Agreement. Fools

Councillors are probably fools as you say. Not for the reasons you provide though. It’s more for failing to make sure they’re on top of the whole allocation process and not leave everything in the hands of Burke. They should have insisted that the guidelines (if there were any) had their approval and that they themselves voted on who got what. By not doing this they’ve let loose the bureaucracy with its own agendas and own values that as shown here, are out of kilter with what most people seem to want.

Could someone clarify for me – have the Oakleigh Warriors changed their name to the Glen Eira Warriors?

Yes! – and recently!
