Phil is the ‘running mate’ of Jamie Hyams.
October 2, 2012 at 9:19 PM
There must be serious doubts whether Mr De’ath is a “new voice” because everything that’s stated here could have come straight out of the lousy community plan. All spin, empty promises, and bullshit. For me this isn’t a “new voice” but a blast from the past there to support Hyams.

Ya sounded pretty good Phil until I got to
. “ensure we progress as a community BUT development needs to be in accordance with with State and Local Planning Legislation”, and
. “improve our residential and permit processes making it more user friendly to users”
then ya totally lost me. Into the bin.
Phil, Phil, Phil please take note
. residents have long been complaining about the inadequacies of the Local Planning Scheme even though this piece of cr*p is in compliance with the State Legislation. Now the proposed planning zones are gonna make it even more favourable to the development rampage, while this Council continues to ignore traffic and parking, open space impacts and the State Govt. continues to ignore associated infrastructure. So Phil’s where’s the questioning, where’s that statement about ensuring appropriate development (every other candidate has managed it), where’s the advocating and where’s standing up for residents rights and amenity.
. if ya look at the stats you will find that resoundingly the biggests users of the planning and permit process are developers. And you want to make it easier for them!!!! Way to go Phil.
That’s why you lost me. Take a look at the Community Plan, which supposedly represents the community’s aspirations or the State Govt. Satisfaction Survey and you will find overdevelopment rates pretty damn high yet here you are advocating smoothing the way. Both you and your advisors need to do some homework lickety split.

Very, very, very interrrrrrestinggggggg. No address in the authorisation. Naughty, naughty! Invalid candidature for breaking the electoral act. Hyams could be without a running mate.

Well I’m not convinced he’s a stooge. He could be a “running mate” of Hyams (as Brett Hedger claims) but he seems to have taken a position opposed to some current council policies e.g. on rates.
As far as I can tell he’s had some involvement in local issues in the past – mainly about local shopping centres. I suspect he’s a genuine candidate hoping to pick up the third position after Hyams and Magee. Anyway, we’ll know more about where he really stands when we see his preferences.
But without making any accusations, here are some observations about 3 candidates in Camden –
Catherine Kraina – stood in 2005, didn’t do any campaigning, gave preferences to Lipshutz.
Martyn Weil – young Jewish student, active member of Liberal Party.
Bernie Kuran – appears to have links with Lipshutz, asked a question at the last council meeting (which probably should have been disallowed) attacking Cheryl Forge.
What are the chances each of these will be giving their preferences to Lipshutz?
Regarding prefernces, I note that Lipshutz and the Greens have submitted prefernces to the VEC. Anyone know what they are? Any comment Mr Hedger?

David Kay is another 2005 candidate as is the perennial Henry Buch. Stooges galore everywhere.

Can’t disagree with this. Anyone seen their (Buch and Myers) policies or statements?. Zippo. Gonna get their fee back, but meanwhile their failed votes (otherwise known as preferences) go to you know who. If ever their was a case (a long history) to be presented that requires electorial reform the Buch, Myers (John Barry), Hyams connection is it.

The best thing you can do is to contact the candidates directly, Jamie Hyams told me directly that he has running mates and that Phil is one of them. I’m fairly certain the other 2 are Cade and Dudeja given the high fives they gave each other after the ballot draw when they came out 1 and 2.

Since you are contributing here Brett, I had thought you might be able to inform us where your preferences are going and why.
October 3, 2012 at 6:57 PM
See below, this is the card that has been lodged with the VEC…

I’ve perused candidates’ names and searched my memory bank if any of them have ever bothered to ask a public question, or write a letter to the editor. I even wonder if any of them have ever had personal contact with council itself and how much they really understand about politics, planning, consultation, and so on. Did they attend any of the community forums? Do any of them ever show up to council meetings? My guess would be “no” and that 99% of them are johnny come latelies, dragooned into service by Lipshutz, Hyams, Esakoff, and the greens or labour.
The difficulty in this election will not be who to put as number 1, but who to put last. That’s where the blockage will be. I agree with an earlier comment, I think from Mr Hedger, that the only true independents are Gatoff and Dempsey

In Tucker Ward there is an interesting situation. Cr. Lobo appears to have swapped preferences with Mr. Gattof. It is very likely that he will gain more primary votes than Cr. Lobo. In this case Oscar will keep Gatoff in the game. This has happened before in 2005 when the assumed runner polled more votes and went on to be a councillor. Politics can be a rough business.

Wanna bet Hyams (he who has the most stooges) will claim there is nothing illegal about stoooges. He is right ofcourse, stooges are legal.
But are they in the best interests of community?

major works cleaning up Queens Avenue. Saw them measuring. Probably traffic risk in letting it grow out so far. Camberwell Junction development off. good omen for an even risky project

Can anyone tell me about Mary Delahunty’s preferences & political alliances? How independent is she really?
October 3, 2012 at 1:53 PM
Our understanding is that Mary is a Labour party member and that one other candidate in Camden is her running mate – Joshua Spiegel
October 3, 2012 at 2:28 PM
Labor not Labour. Easier to stick with ALP. Less confusing.
October 3, 2012 at 4:33 PM
There are reputed to be a number of covert Liberals standing at this election. Guess it’s spot the Liberal for most of us then. 😉
October 3, 2012 at 4:52 PM
If this blog “gleneira” cannot differentiate between Labor and Liberals and not Libels then what type of people belong to this site? This blog is a good example of whingers and self -righteous.

Anonymous 7 – Just read your comments. Do you have any knowledge of the background of Newton Gattoff? He works for Kingston City Council and is just all negative talk. People have found him to be a bull shiter. A few days ago he was seen driving with a frame board on top of his car with loud music. Gat off behaving like a maniac! People have made up their minds particularly those whom you have been talking…..
