The graph is impressive and I don’t think it would be put out unless there was some real homework done and the figures checked again and again. With the debt that Glen Eira has and its forecast plans of another $10m for pavilions, plus the unforseen $7 million payout in superannuation, I’d suspect that these figures are in fact conservative. An earlier post here revealed that staff had gone up over 200 people in the space of one year. That’s an extravagance that I don’t think we can afford. This number I would assume doesn’t include the other hidden costs of contractors and consultants. The numbers for these staff are not known. All in all, my rates have climbed and climbed year after year. Charges have literally gone haywire. Yet, all I can see is that I’m paying more for exactly the same service, or even a diminished service. There simply must be a tightening of the belt and the eschewing of unnecessary works and simple extravagances.

D. Evans – stop preaching and put your hands up and stand for the elections. If not, you are a Richard Cranium. (MODERATORS: rest of comment deleted)

Here we go again. Shoot the messenger instead of looking at the problem. Anon, how about commenting on the numbers. You don’t have to agree with Mr Evans but at least have the decency to put up an argument and not your ridiculous playing the man approach. If you don’t like what he’s saying then use your brains and say something decent and logical for a change.

Weren’t the figures Dunstan put in his brochure prior to the last poll shown to be inaccurate?
