We are committed to facilitating genuine debate within Glen Eira. Your views on planning, environment, open space, CEO and councillor performance matter.
Interesting blog. Agree that Glen Eira Council needs community minded people. But more than just know about Council, they should be able to be effective with other Councillors. Otherwise we get ‘governance’ by management as it happened from the beginning of Glen Eira. Do we want that? Choose carefully.
Interesting point 2. I don’t know Kate however, maybe her knowledge of how Councils should be governed is just what is needed at Glen Eira. Governance and the performance of the controlling CEO is a massive concern and impacts us residents in a negative manner.
Let’s hope if she does get in, that she can work constructively with other Councillors to move Glen Eira forward and out of the murky waters of the past 10 years.
On another point, Margaret’s running mate, Karina, seems limited in her knowledge and research.
Do wish Kate Dempsey all the best as she may be able to remind councilors how local govt. really works and cause the rules to be carried out rather than flaunted.

All the best Kate. That’s what we need. Non aligned councillors who put community first.

Appears to be a stooge for the Greens. Non aligned Councillors can achieve zip.
