It’s a compelling case but not sure you can blame it all on Lipshutz. Newton must also share the blame for putting Glen Eira in this predicament as should long term audit committee members, Gibbs and McLean. Hyams, Pilling and Esakoff have not helped the situation either.

This kind of negative campaigning makes me not want to vote for any of them.

People need to know what’s really going on. They’re not going to get it from Lipshutz and his gang nor from Newton and Swabey. If this flyer makes even ten people think about their votes then it’s worth it. The “rot” that’s in this council will only be gotten rid of once the truth is out in all its ugliness.

As I understand it Frank is engaging in typical play the man politics. He thinks that the electorate is stupid by promising no rate increases. Something he cannot deliver without 5 votes. He points out Lipshitz’s responsibilities without naming his, which we all know are zero. Frank what about telling your constituents that you are before VCAT and you potentially can be suspended from Council. What about allegations of bullying and conflict of interest .What about the Ombudsman’s Report and the internal Council Report. You will get back in Frank, but let me tell you that you have a terrible reputation with people in the know.Your election leaflet is not only negative,it is untruthfull, It is a sad reflection on a person who should be respected by the Community.Let’s hope VCAT does it’s job and the truth be known.

I sure hope that the truth gets out since this will show exactly the trumped up charges and whose responsible for all this. We’ve already had a pretty good example from the Jones and Burke testimony at the hearing that was shut down. If that’s the quality of the evidence then Lipshutz had better start packing his bags together with Newton and the rest of the stooges. They are going to have to explain why they’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of thousands in chasing Penhalluriack and why.

There are some valid points in the flyer that I have not seen anyone debunk. Going back over many previous posts on this site has refreshed my memory. First of all, the Victorian Auditor General did declare council at “high risk”. Ensuing financial reports have kept the ship afloat only because major projects that would tally millions of dollars have been delayed by as much as 18 months. Even Pilling commented on this for the Duncan MacKinnon Pavilion. When you don’t spend your cash by delaying planned projects that provides the excuse that all is well and that the debt isn’t about to cripple anyone. Penhalluriack was the only councillor who voted against the budget. You can’t blame him for the 6.5% rate rise. He’s also spoken out time and again about waste and the questionable value of some of the projects. I think he makes sense. The same can’t be said for Lipshutz.

    Yep agree absolutely with 3, 4 & 5 above.

Dont fall for it – the gang is not telling you the truth….just have a look at the crappy propoganda Newsletter that’s a pure PR exercise manipulated to make the GE community think all is fab in the Council- photo after photo of Hyams, Esakoff Lipshutz doing the rounds & openings- makes me wanna puke when the real stuff – roads are congested, traffic meyham on local residential streets, footpaths & kerbs are falling apart, shops in the main shopping activity centres are closing one by one & rampant overdevelopment, a ‘ dont care what the community thinks’ attitude of the incumbent councillors & Newton & his boys- the Council rag’s full of self serving sXXXt, delivered to your door! This sxxxt comes of huge rates that you & I have to pay year after year.

We need more councillors who are strong & independent thinking & prepared to fight for the community good- not a paternalistic attitude, of we know what;s best for you as we have had to date by the likes of Hyams, Esakoff, Tang, Lipshutz & of course Newton & ‘the boys’.

Found this comment in the Leader. Same goes for this council –

The role of a councillor is to pass legislation which will then be enforced by council officials. It is the role of those elected to make policy to accommodate the needs of the people and to adjust policy when circumstances change and it is the job of councillors to speak on behalf of the people. Afterall, a councillor is the representative of the people. Having said this, I would expect all councillors to act for the people and not be the personal puppets of the CEO and to challenge poor decisions without fear of upsetting their puppet master. I am sick and tired of wanabee politicians who advocate public consultation, social justice and competent administration and yet do absolutely nothing when a problem is raised, If a councillor is merely a puppet of the CEO as I suggest, do we really have a need for them. I understand that there needs to be separation of powers etc, but council also needs to move when circumstances dictate change and not be inflexible. Monash council is so rigid that it needs to be reminded of who they represent. The Mayor is my representative on council, not the CEO and I want my Mayor to be effective.

Make yourself look good by making others look bad. This does not always work.

Lipshutz doesn’t need any help in making himself look bad. Doing it all by himself

On Sunday December 4 last year this councillor’s dog ran barking and growling at me in the street. This was another time his little smarling friend was “off Leash’ WHAT IF A CHILD HAD BEEN CONSERNED AND HAD RUN ON THE ROAD TO ESCAPE THIS ANGRY UNCONTROLLED DOG?
