i wonder if all the councillors would be prepared to take the pledge that they have never accepted money from property developers as well?

Can Dunstan promise that he has received no funding directly or indirectly from a current Councillor, or a third party connected to that Councillor.Dunstan has told us who he has not been funded by, but what we want to know is who is funding him.

Hey Noel, where’s your money going?

Very clever. By making statements about not receiving funds from developers there is an implication that some councillors may have been on the end of some form of gratuity.

If the others are worried, then they should also make a similar declaration. It’s not that hard to do. All they have to say is that they have never received a gift worth over $500 nor any other special favours for voting in a certain way on any application or policy in council. They could even go further and state that they haven’t bargained their souls away to various groups or organisations in return for a bunch of votes. That would be upfront.

Which candidates had their campaign funded by the Melbourne Racing Club?

Hey Don, I’ve received your flyer but with no preferences of how to vote. Rosstown Ward hasn’ got great choices. If I exclude Crs Esakoff and Pilling and their ‘stooges’/supporters I am left with some students. Can you let people know who to vote for after you from 2 to 8?

Well, Anonymous 2 raises some interesting questions. They are important questions of probity for candidates in this election.I hope he/she raises similar necessary questions with other candidates.

Firstly, you ask whether I have received “funding from a current councillor?”.
Why be so coy? Ask whether I have received funding from ANY current councillor(s), not just a particular (un-named) councillor. Indeed, go further, what about possible funding from other, previous councillors? As it stands your question is what our lawyer councillors call a fishing expedition. Make some assertions, and see which fish take the bait. Really, you should try harder.

Secondly, you ask who is funding my campaign. Why not ask who funds the other candidates’ campaigns as well, especially the campaigns of the stooges? I have not funded the campaigns of any stooges, in fact I have no stooges. I believe the use of stooges leads to unprincipled deception of the voting public, and only serves to destroy our democratic system. The sooner the Minister outlaws the use of stooges, the better.

Now, to get the ball rolling, so other candidates may declare their own funding sources, let me say clearly that the full entirety of funds for my election campaign have come from my own personal resources.

Finally, a question in return, for Anonymous 2.
Perhaps Anonymous 2 will tell us who is funding his/her campaign?

    Don Dunstan

Anon 6 asked you to declare your preferences. Not a hard question Don.

We’ve received a copy of Mr Dunstan’s flyer but couldn’t upload it for some reason. We’ve copied his preferences instead. They’re reproduced in order of preference-

        1. Dunstan
        2. Caspi
        3. Okotel
        4. Ho
        5. Esakoff
        6. Pilling
        7. Hsu
        8. Mikelsons

Why aren’t all candidates CV information made public on a website as part of the electoral process rather than flyers and other marketing blurb? Its the 21st century people!

‘Donkeying’ for Don. Voted with 1 for Dunstan and then up to the top to Esakoff and back to the bottom with Pilling. Voted for change, but know nothing about others.
