To quote “The Exhibition was seen by over 250,000 people in just 16 days in Sydney, and we can’t wait to bring it to Melbourne”. It’s good to see that Melbournian’s (and country Victorian’s making the trek) will have the opportunity to see the exhibition.
So what is the MRC going to do re traffic and parking issues. According to the centre of the racecourse they can use the centre for parking 10 major event days per year (this excludes racedays when they are permitted to use part of the centre for parking) – 4 have gone for the Caravan and Camping Show, 1 for the Builders Workers Union Christmas Function, Since the numbers attending in Melbourne are likely to equal that of Sydney then the remaining 5 of the 10 days will be used up the end of July. So what happens when they hold the next major event – public get the heave ho again?
And just how much is the MRC paying for this commercial use of crown land and just when is the MRC going to let nearby residents know of the traffic treatments they are proposing for the event.

I think it’s a great idea, the price is a very steep, but the dino’s are a big hit with the under thirteens. Meet the Flintstones, give us a brake, do todays kids know about he Flintstones. They know mums & dads will splash to keep the brats entertained and quasi educated.
I guess it will be glimps of the future, as well as the past, when the terrible towers are built.

Not only the towers but also of the traffic and parking mayhem and the significant pedestrian and cyclist safety issues that will occur as
1) 15 years of staged construction occurs and
2) forever as the future village residents (2000+), employees (5000+) and patrons (10000+ per day), racegoers or event attendees are all vying for access to the site and somewhere to park.
3) 25,000 Monash Uni students (up 15,000 from the current 10.000) vie for access to the adjacent site.
4) the MRC considers to dip into the public purse (zero rental) while all Victorians pay higher and higher taxes for less and less services. Ditto with rates.

That must be why they are applying for planning permission to use the heywood st car park as a car park again. Must think the center would be mud heap after 1 months continuous use. Question would they have to then reapply to turn into buildings and how does this affect the rates that have been backdated. Also haven’t they claimed to have sold the land anyway? Should they be doing tragic surveys considering this is being turned into a car park?

They sold the land to their consortium – not the same thing as selling to a third party. Also means they retain the huge discount on their rates.
