Sounds alright and better than what we had

Good luck to Simone, the race is wide open and chances are she will better than Silver and that other fellow Dan. I don’t think we will miss Delahunty that much either.
Simone’s platform is kind of bland and conservative. She certainly not going in strong in the over-development and environmental sustainability department and this will figure big in the coming years.
Who ever the election comes through wit, we will have 3 new councillors for Camden, hopefully they will be cohesive, and cooperate with each other and put up front against the steamrolling officers snow jobs, when needed.

All of these promises sound wonderful, but there’s little detail. It’s impossible to make voting decisions based on candidates’ marketing blurbs! Hopefully the upcoming Save Glen Eira forums will help to reveal which candidates will have the ability to bring about real change.

So true Mary, we have had so many candidates in the recent past that have become councillors, that just tick all the boxes, Footpaths, opens space, sporting clubs, listening to residents, will support residents in opposing inappropriate development, blah, blah. With little or no commitment of fulfilling their pledges once elected.
They just hold up their tired little hands and vote yes to everything the officers put before them. And divide into their political factions when any initiative comes through their fellow councillors.
The best part of 20 years to get a mediocre tree protection register up and running. This has come 20 years to late putting Glen Eira into a serious tree decline spiral with little hope of reversing this self imposed neglect.
Mostly pathetic really.
We must make sure the big dividers Esacoff, Magee, and that Athanasopoulos bloke get the boot.
We need cohesion to make progress.
