John says Simone was responsive and sympathetic. Sam thanked John for the email, said he’d call and never did. David was a Greens candidate. He was responsive and said he supported more green space (unsurprisingly!).
Yes we’re on tenterhooks today as well. Not sure how we’ll get through the day if the result goes the wrong way!

Not a great result for Glen Eira, with four existing councillors re-elected despite the unimpressive performance of the last council. At least we now have Simone Zmood in Camden, who will hopefully make some difference to the issues of overdevelopment etc. And perhaps some of the other new people will bring a bit of fresh energy and a more positive attitude towards listening to residents.

It will be wait and see, hopefully these people can work together to achieve the best possible outcome for residents, and not the bureaucrats developers mates as has been the case for a long, long time.
On the surface it seems the returned councils that offered more of the same did well.

A positive from these results is that no political party will have a majority of councillors. On the negative side, there isn’t much difference between the Libs and Labs and the Greens are all for more development round transport hubs. How Pilling got in again simply boggles the mind. In the end this result does not bode well for residents.

Agree. It will be full steam ahead for bigger and bigger development

Vote the same get the same. I can’t believe how people complain about Council and then vote for dead wood. Very disappointing.
