History does repeat itself, but this is definitely becoming an all-time farce. The front doors leading to council chambers were again locked last night. The side doors from the car park were also locked. Only the acute hearing of a cleaner prevented a total lock out.
As per usual, the meeting last approximately 3 minutes. A little stumble by Lipshutz over accepting the previous minutes, and then the big one – motion to move in camera. Moved Lipshutz and seconded (surprise? surprise?) by Lobo.

Secrecy ain’t enough – lockouts are added insurance and announcing agendas just hours before such meetings. Well done Glen Eira. You’re sure to win an award for “responsiveness” on this one.

Lets hope the cleaner isn’t fired

I hope some one is keeping record of these lock-outs, as I am coming to think they are deliberate act, even if its occurs via neglect. The results are the same, and the goal is to undermine the public right to participate.
I think this blog site worries the town hall power base more than they admit, having an unofficial account of proceeding is a threat because someone is grossly distorting the accounts.
Which leaves reader with choice, of who lives in fantasy land the council or the tireless blogger scribe that attends these meeting and relays the another account via this site.
As Paul Burke would agree, in community consultation arena, choice is a dangerous thing.
Council want one record, and that is the one they produce, and we have seen what wonderful fanciful accounts they can be.
It is getting to the point where the emperor truly has no clothes
The community engagement strategy turned out to be a waste of time, it shut none of the loop-holes that Newton and Burke use to rig their predetermine positions.
The Strategy was just end to end motherhood statements with no guidelines or recommendations that would help to solve the problems Glen Eira has in its community consultation processes.
We have a very anti community power base down at the town hall and this needs to be turned around.
The next rule will be no pens and paper will be allowed in the public gallery.

Do you think they install a metal detector to catch people bringing tape recorders?

No, just mirrors, so Tang Lips, Hyams, & Esacoff can look at them selves.

Anonymous 4. Sorry, but supplying mirrors won’t solve the problem.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
Actually the best way to ensure secrecy and/or confidentiality would be to have the cleaners cleaning somewhere else in the building. Problem solved.
I must be Einstein to work that one out. I give top marks to myself, just like a CEO should. Can I now apply to be the next brilliant, creative, problem solving CEO? I have worked at State and Federal government level, so I know the ropes and how to tie knots. So, save the cost of advertising, and I guarantee no more legal disputes. Over to you, Councillors.
