You should also check out the proposals for Richmond and South Yarra Stations. Both are humongous development delights.

Unlike HK all these developments next to train stations will encourage car usage by providing car parking. Pointless

Nope. Car usage is encouraged by inadequate public transport. The government will not provide public transport at all the times to all the places people wish and need to access. Providing parking means somebody can leave their car at home, rather than park it on the street or in a railway carpark and shunt rail patrons into surrounding streets. Under current policy people are discouraged from riding bikes. The streets are unsafe with parked cars, cars travel too fast on local roads, few stations have Parkiteers. In order to use a train it has to stop at your railway station. When is Metro going to end the practice of bypassing?
