Not to the posted topic, but i noticed that a large area of Lord Reserve has been fenced off and is being dug up yet again, for what looks like the laying of a irrigation system. Would this be 3 times this has happened in as many years?
Another missed opportunity for valuable open space iand smack dab in the middle of an activity centre that is reeling from the impact of the zones.
I’ve heard on the grapevine Council simply couldn’t afford it. Like Mathew Guy and Fisherman’s Bend, Counmci’s failure to do the necessary ground work (ie. acquiring land or implementing parkland overlays and insisting on spending the open space levy on existing open space maintenance) means Council really wasn’t kidding – they can’t afford to buy this or any other land.
The best Council can do is once again re landscape the Jersey Parade Library Forecourt and to close off a road to nowhere in Caulfield North and spend $450,000 (the land is zero cost) to create a piddling little 500 sqm park.
Any update from the CRRT meeting last night? Thinking it could have been quite fiery considering the MRC development plans have come out since the last one
