We’ve received more photos and a video of some incredible and illegal manoeuvrings of a double loader in Carnegie. The photos provide another angle for what is happening. It is truly amazing that every car and pedestrian remained intact.

I took this video and the photos. The truck was doing a blind backwards turn to get back to the dig site at the corner of Neerim and Belsize avenue. The trucks have been coming and going for over a wee. I have seen so many appallingly unsafe manoeuvres and so much illegal parking, It is so absolutely unsafe and the developers, have no-one officially managing traffic in Neerim Road. Council has done nothing to protect the safety of residents! Someone is going to get hurt!!

I would not bother calling council. They are f*****ing useless. Photograph the license plate and report them to the cops. Then get the cops to fine council for not insisting on proper management of building sites. Better still, contact the insurance company that covers council’s arse and tell them how f****ing useless this moronic council is. Then when someone is killed I hope they sue the pants off Newton.

Useless all of them are! None of them are representing the residents and come election they knock on peoples doors. Heard Pilling the stooge was elected Mayor and Karina O’Kotell a deputy Mayor. Greens have proved beyond doubt that the reason being the gang with O’Kotell wants control as both of them are puppets and will be told what to do including a high jump. Pilling has been propagating high rise building and agree to cut the trees as was recently done for Frh. He and his partner comrades in crime are real looney Councillors and cannot be trusted. Council needs to be sacked. Government is deliberately closing their eyes.

It was my belief that developers are meant to hire people to man streets with their slow or stop signs. This costs a fair bit. Cheaper to do nothing.
November 14, 2015 at 9:41 AM
Ya know there is a bright side – if Council got off it’s A and actually fined these developers they’d only use the funds to inundate us with more bullshit propaganda like the infamous 11c Flyer.

OK we get it, trucks are big noisy and noticeable and the drivers need access to their sites, we all understand this. I’m not sure your advancing your cause by picking on truck behaviour. Trucks are here there and everywhere, and most of the time they are top grade drivers, so if trucks are around just take it easy. It is also as plain as the anything, council is not going to hassle there developer mates through clamping down on trucks. There is a price to pay for unsustainable development, but who in Glen Eira has ever complained or supports sustainable living, a few and that’s it. Most go on and on voting for the same dummies at all levels of Government that sells them out time and time again. It’s like George Orwell’s 1984 most people are in a daze from too much Soma.

An accident waiting to happen!!
The site needs to be closed down until the developers
put in place some OH&S policies and show that
they are responsible
Council should be ensuring that OH&S policies
are being maintained on all sites!!
November 14, 2015 at 4:12 PM
OH&S policies are created to look after workers. No such policies exist to look after the public. The laws already exist and should be enforced by either Vic Roads or the police. In some cases the council by-laws officer.

But the builders will cover any serious accident or death.

First came new zones (without public consultation who have been paying rates for decades),after 2 years disaster from implementation of zones, the initiator Akhurst timed his departure, now Newton has resigned and Hyams has no one to support the little bug who wants residents to believe that nothing has changed from the original zones, a double tongue Hyams and his gang of wolves. The culprit will be remembered for destroying all suburbs. Oil floats on water and residents cannot wait for next election.
Rostown – Pilling the terminator no show.
O’Kotell struggling, deputy mayor
will not help her much as this was
she thinks of being elected.
Esakoff is heard saying she will not
but who knows!
November 14, 2015 at 8:00 PM
your joking the general public will go on voting for the same old faces forever, that’s the publics job, to be fooled, hoodwink and betrayed, they love it, why would they ever change
November 15, 2015 at 8:50 AM
I am feeling that things have changed as a result of uncontrolled development in GE. Everyone can see the 4,5,6 storey buildings everywhere, so many are affected with traffic chaos as a result of construction – I believe that with good candidates we can throw out these incompetent idiots
November 15, 2015 at 9:32 AM
yeh, ok, and how many resident are more than doubly pleased with the escalation in their land prices. Greed and stupidity trumps almost everything for most people, especially in Carnegie
There is no such thing as a good candidate, we had a SOS candidate make onto GE council a few years ago, she ran on the SOS platform, and she gave herself repetitive strain disorder to her voting arm, voting in favour of everything the bureaucrats wanted. She never had the voice to oppose anything, or even speak against anything. Do not put your hopes on the local pollies or the would be’s, they are born to screw you, and once elected they enjoy doing just that.
The bright smiles of the con men and air conditioning at the town hall outweigh the winging residents every time
November 14, 2015 at 10:10 PM
Yep, looks like a foregone conclusion. But I am not so sure. Meanwhile, a new CEO will selected. Now? Perhaps by a Committee of four (remember MRC issue committee?) with Mayor, Deputy Mayor and 2 others from the other Wards like Hyams and Lipshutz. Who do you think we will get as a CEO?
November 15, 2015 at 12:35 PM
I think all councillors will be involved in selecting the CEO. They appear to have contracted a company to assist. They would get a short list and hopefully all councillors will be involved in the final selection. All of the councillors would be aware of the importance of this choice.
November 15, 2015 at 4:55 PM
Once of the gang’s community. Pilling and O’Kotell sure to support. Pilling will sell his cycle giving a bloody image that he is a green although he was asked to step down from greens party. Watch out when Frogmore which is pending for councils ok. O’Kotell will be punished by Carnegie residents.

As an extension of this discussion, a nine storey development is proposed for a commercial zone at 322 Centre Road, Bentleigh (near Mahvo Street). This will be a precedent case for future commercial zone developments on Centre Road, McKinnon Road and Brewer Road (designated as urban villages!!). There is a Council Planning Conference at 6.30pm on MONDAY 23rd NOVEMBER at the Glen Eira Council Auditorium to discuss this development. Good attendance is expected, please attend to support. As no height restrictions exist for commercial zone developments, anything could happen if this proceeds. PLEASE ATTEND AND PROMOTE TO OTHERS
