TOTAL 774 PLUS UNKNOWNS in the six weeks!
The Planning Scheme cites an average of 500-600 dwellings PER YEAR!
The facts:
- Glen Eira has quadrupled its average new dwellings per year
- How many of these new dwellings are single bedroom is undisclosed
- How many of these new dwellings stand empty is anyone’s guess
- How many ‘standards’ council overlooks in granting these permits is undisclosed
- Why Council fails repeatedly at VCAT remains unreported (but we know why according to VCAT judgements – the fault lies almost exclusively with the current planning scheme)
- Have any of these 2000+ new dwellings been granted an exemption in paying their open space levy and, for those that have paid, is the levy at the maximum of 5.7% in each and every case?

Awful frightening results for residents. History shows that probably 95% of these will get up in some fashion. These councillors have got a lot to answer for.

As part of the Planning Scheme Review draft work plan Council has proposed up to three structure plans within five years!!! They’ll be an absolute waste of time by then. This situation is an total disgrace.

Dispiriting to say the least. Carnegie keeps copping it. 16 storeys should look a treat next to a 12 storey building. My congratulations to council for completely destroying a beautiful suburb.
July 8, 2016 at 6:57 AM
The demise of Carnegie is brought on with the development of the Monash Immigration Centre. (aka Monash Uni) The flats are built as the developers believe that overseas students will want somewhere to live. Most are attending Monash with an eye on PR. Carnegie families are paying the price for Victoria’s biggest export industry.

Claire Elliott Neerim a bloody disaster.

Don’t expect Daniel Andrews to object. Sky rail is going to encourage even more high rise in Carnegie. As for Pakula and the racing industry (both nags and dish lickers), don’t get me started..,,

Skyrail is a great idea and you can’t blame uncontrolled development on sky rail – this is a crazy call to make – BTW most people want skyrail
July 8, 2016 at 4:45 PM
Skyrail fails to comply with residential amenity standards. Check how many people would be happy if the government changed the Planning Scheme to remove amenity standards for all. LXRA still doesn’t know, or refuses to say, what the final design looks like despite construction starting.
July 8, 2016 at 6:39 PM
Anonymous describes attributing Skyrail to uncontrolled development as “crazy”, and yet that’s what the government has done in its Explanatory Report for Amendment GC37. Not just once either. There are 18 attributions to that uncontrolled growth.

Not on topic!
So much for the demise of the Trustees. Last meeting in March 2016. Now another one scheduled – “The next meeting of the Trustees of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve [CRR] will be held in the later half of 2016.” Source: http://www.crrt.org.au/Notices/Upcomingmeetings.aspx
Will we get an agenda? Minutes? When will the Trustees be consigned to the dustbin of history? When will the committee report on their findings and when (or will) this report be public? When will the AG’s recommendations finally bear real fruit?

Talking about the destruction of Carnegie, was Okotell elected to the senate?

and they have put new railings up with gates in them at the public entrances. So this means he public have the security warnings plus a gate discouraging entry. Magee has gone very quiet on this whole issue
