The last two posts confirm what a very sick place Glen Eira council is. The nastiness and lies stink to high heaven. I don’t see how any reasonable person could ever accept anything that these people say or do. This isn’t the normal thrust and parry of politics. It is abuse of every principle of working for the municipality and its population.

Ok all this development maybe fair enough as people need a place to live.
However it is up to our councillors to make sure any development is sustainable, and the buildings that are being proposed are the best quality possible.
I personally doubt this is the case. In effect our councillors have failed in their primary duty to protect resident and also future residents that will eventually purchase/rent or live in the new developments.
When the system fails it usually is the fault of the managers in our case bureaucrats and our councillors. It maybe worth a clean out of the sitting councillors as they have already surrendered to the developers.

The Minister sacked the Trust last Sunday. All gone. The Gov. appointees were reluctant to give up there positions. They were told it was a lifetime gig.

How dumb are these councillors not to know ISP addresses are visible on forums and blogs and in many cases easy to trace. And not take at least some action to cover their tracks.

The prerequisite for becoming a councillor is the ability to speak with a forked tongue. In public say what people want to hear or say things that will defend your terrible decisions or the fast diminishing reputation of your workplace. In private get the knives out and stick it to anyone you don’t like or who has more influence than you or who hasn’t voted the way you wanted them to vote. Always bearing a grin of course and kissing plenty of babies along the way and promising everyone the earth and telling them what you personally have achieved. Never mind that it is all a bunch of crock. You think you will get away with it because you think that people are stupid, gullible, and couldn’t care less. As long as you sound good nothing matters because being a councillor is a short term proposition. You want bigger fish to fry and more money by sitting in at Spring street with all the other ex councillors.

Shocking to hear that Esakof wants to be a Councillor for the 7th term. Is she not a big part of decisions taken against the residents for large developments in Carnegie and destruction of several interests of Residents. I have attended around 7 meetings and every one observes how all the 9 Councillors perform. What is in it for Esakof is anyone’s guess.

And I thought Magee being a Councillor for 8 consecutive years put him past his use by date. Tucker doesn’t deserve another 4 years of Magee.
But Esakoff takes the cake. She’s been a Councillor since 2003, was both sacked and re-elected in 2005 and has been continually re-elected since (2008, 2012) which makes it 13 consecutive years. Now, she’s after another 4 years making it a record breaking 17 consecutive years. Rosstown desperately needs someone other than her.
Magee’s 8 year track record as a Councillor includes one highlight, and that is his great work on the opening up the Caulfield Racecourse, but on everything else he’s been an absolute dud.
But once again Esakoff’s 13 year track record eclipses that of Magee. She has no highlights or initiatives, it’s been an abysmal record of fence sitting and unquestioned going with the Liberals flow. She doesn’t even live in Rosstown anymore.

Cr Esakoff says units without direct light and fresh air are quite acceptable as long as there are not too many in each block of units.
