One of the range of videos created by Moreland City Council on their proposed implementation of the new residential zones. Please note a couple of stark differences:
- 10 information sessions for residents
- An online survey
- 2 months of public consultation
- TWO STOREY LIMIT FOR GENERAL RESIDENTIAL ZONE (Glen Eira has decided that 3 storeys are fine!)

I’m anticipating that over time when more and more councils come out with what they are going to do about the residential zones that the promises made by Glen Eira to “protect” neighbourhoods will be seen for what it really is – a monumental con game that has delivered the municipality even more into the hands of rapacious developers. The fact that this has all been done secretly and without any resident being given the opportunity to have a say is criminal in my opinion. Each and every councillor should be ashamed of their role in this subterfuge and in allowing it to happen. They have failed their communities and ignored the fundamentals of their oaths to work in the best interests of residents. I would be happy for them to resign en masse because they are not doing the work that they were elected to do. Letting Newton run the show without their presence would at the very least be an honest acknowledgement of what happens anyway.

Stonnington’s also going all out on information and consultation. Most likely 99% of other councils will be.

I have to agree with these thoughts when you see other councils going to the trouble and financial investment of making sure that their residents know what’s about to descend on them and that they can have their two cents worth. Our lot hasn’t done a scrap to let people know. They just pretend that people had their chance 3 years ago. Shocking governance and pathetic cave in by councillors.

does anyone know about pressure being put on by sporting clubs in Caulfield for the government to go through with the councils plan to build all the sporting grounds in the middle of the racecourse?

Glen Eira Council claims to know what the residents want therefore there is no need to consult them.
How do they know – it’s because they have been ignoring them for years.
