Gary Max interview with 2 Glen Eira Residents on elections, and council performance
PS: The minutes for Monday night’s special council meeting have now been published on council’s website. We believe that an all time record has been set in that the meeting lasted exactly 3 minutes to ratify the most important document that a council can produce – the Annual Report! Both Delahunty and Lobo were absent.
The stuff ups with minutes still continue however. Item 4.1 states that the item under consideration is the Councillor Code of Conduct. Yet when it comes to the actual nominated 4.1, it is on the Annual Report. Would whoever is doing the minutes please, oh please, proof read and ensure that what goes out to the public is accurate and a true record of what occurred!

Great stuff guys. Hope residents vote accordingly.

Good job interviewees. I had no idea that these things cost so much. What’s wrong with a playground, trees and grass that doesn’t cost megabucks.

Nothing wrong and often the best result, the more complicated the work and the higher the cost of the job, the bigger the kick-backs.

I’d vote for these two residents any day.

It was refreshing to listen to two residents who knew what they were talking about and were not beholden to any political party, or council public relations line. Common sense is a priceless commodity sorely lacking in our elected officials.

I agree. They made a lot of sense to me. I voted 3 days ago for change. That’s what will make a difference I reckon.

Back in February 2016, Council resolved to publish a highly racist and defamatory Motion in multiple newspapers with Cr Lobo as its target. It has since received criticism from multiple lawyers over its stance, yet the resolution has not been rescinded. Has anybody seen the defamatory Motion published in the Leader or Australian Jewish News or the Herald-Sun or The Age or The Australian? Cr Pilling championed it and ultimately cost us several tens of thousands of dollars over his and his colleagues’ behaviour. Can the CEO simply ignore such offensive resolutions from Council?

Probably most who are going to vote have already voted. Still, at election time it is appropriate to revisit the performance of incumbent councillors. One issue that hasn’t been heard much about recently is the moonscaping of Frogmore, 1 Wahgoo Rd. Remember the faux outrage from Council that the site was moonscaped—despite the ridiculous claims of Council officers and councillors that existing protections were adequate? So what actions did Council take and what did they achieve?
I also note that VCAT has ordered a Permit to be granted to Jewish Care for its 120-bed proposal in NRZ. Cr Pilling, critically, was against applying Heritage Overlay to Frogmore. He admitted he didn’t know much about the history of the area and therefore it couldn’t be of local significance.

I agree with some comments, however often it is impossible to make decision 6 months prior.
Who wants to do a weekend course (?) for something that may not eventuatate?
Party politics….thankfully I ran as my own person with my own agenda..try to implement prudent change and positive change.
