STARTED IN OCTOBER– ROADWORKS PAID FOR BY THE MRC AND THEIR FRIENDLY DEVEOPERS PROBUILD part of C60 permit..
An email has not been answered nor has there been any improvement in the situation.
Council is not interested in ratepayers for sure.
Just take a look at the road works occurring 400 metres of Station Street, Kambrook Road and Eskdale Road. Single lane traffic only if in a car.! Eskdale Road pedestrians have had the footpath blocked off on both sides again on Thursday night with no warning lights and will be walking along the road with their backs to the traffic
if walking to the station. There are no safety lamps before one crashes into all the footpath obstructions.
Then there is the builders gantry on Station STREET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOOTPATH BLOCKING THROUGH VISION DAY AND NIGHT.
I did see an AsIan person consider walking on the single lane roadway IN THE DAR Kobviously afraid of this footpath arrangement. The path on the south side is unavailable due to the works.
I’ve certainly had difficulties with getting Council to deal with unauthorized footpath closures. Can you confirm whether Permits were issued for the partial road closures, and if so, who from Council authorized both footpaths to be closed simultaneously without alternative arrangements for pedestrians to be made? The odds are the closures are not authorized, but Council will still be reluctant to take enforcement action.

Be careful Hyam’s and his lawyer’s & order team will make sure a bi-laws officer is dispatched down there to book residents for walking on the road.
