We are committed to facilitating genuine debate within Glen Eira. Your views on planning, environment, open space, CEO and councillor performance matter.
The escaped clauses of Rebecca’s McKenzie’s overdevelopment syndrome, I sell your amenity to developers for peanuts, and you buy it back at inflated prices.
Any new development should be excluded from receiving a council parking permit and you can only get a parking permit if you live in that street. We are seeing more and more side by side town houses near public transport (rail stations )so the rules should apply to them as well as other multi level developments.
IN Phillip st we are seeing people in flats parking camper trailers ALL the time in in a 2 hour zones for weeks on end and they don’t have parking permits? What a fast; my boss said once; become a GOYA. ” Get off your arse”. when people did nothing. Something Glen Eira could learn from. Out sourcing is good if it delivers results but if not , get back to basics and do your job!!
I agree, The camper trailer has been in Phillip st for weeks. SO much for council enforcing the rules. Council give lip service to parking preferring to pontificate on planning rules that they do not totally understand. Just ask the new councillors how much do they really understand…..ZIP Its the same at Bendigo st nearby because they are near the Patterson Station. No permits for flats; you do not pay rates; you should not get parking privileges. The whole idea about flats near a station is that the people will use the trains…..Get off the grass and see the real world.

Heaps of oxymorons in this. Council and “empathetic”, or “transparent”. Weasel words indeed.
