Year after year after year, the results of the Community Satisfaction Surveys repeat the same results. Each year for over a decade now the areas that are causing greatest concern for residents are:
- Planning
- Population growth
- Traffic/parking
- Consultation
- Informing the community
But nothing seems to change when council knows only too well that these are the areas that need to be focused on. Even more disconcerting are the results as presented in the following table. They reveal the importance that people place on these various areas, plus how they evaluate overall council ‘performance’ for those categories. When there is a discrepancy of over 20 points, then remediation is well overdue.
Council can pat itself on the back all it likes, but the main areas of discontent remain and even grow.

All true, year after year for 20 plus years resident say they want more native/indigenous trees planted and year after year, parks and gardens continue on planting the same old crap exotic trees, that in a lot of case sit there stunted in growth or die. There is no accountability, and why would the CEO change that loop-hole.

Yes indeed. Same old, same old and no progress for 15 years. Things are only getting worse.

I think more to the point our elected Councillors are not playing their part and keeping the CEO and other paid members of council honest and sticking to the plan that got them elected. Seems like you can say anything during an election campaign and forget it once elected. Its ego not work ethic that seems to count.
