The audio presented below is from last night’s council meeting. The ‘message’ is clear. For far too long this council has continued to ignore residents and implemented planning decisions that fly in the face of both common sense and resident views.

Congratulations to this speaker for telling it how it is. Kudos also goes to the resident objectors who went to vcat over the daily planet hearing. No longer can this council expect people to sit back and take the rubbish they dish out. We have all had enough of paying them to do nothing but help developers.

When are these Council Officers going to accept that the residents of Glen Eira have had enough of the blatant over developing in Glen Eira? Stop blaming State Government, and start acting in the interests of residents!

So the mayor is blaming DELWP. The implication is that the deficiencies of the Planning Scheme are due to the Department’s insistence on weak clauses as a prerequisite for gaining ministerial approval. It would be more convincing if there was an evidence trail showing who asked for what in negotiations. For our democracy to be effective we need this sort of information about people making political decisions allegedly on our behalf.

Hyams has always been the lapdog of all the CEO’s he has served under and I do mean under, he will twist and turn like a snake to please his masters, then have the gall to blame the residents for his failures. This has always been his modus.
